Mini Cards

Who doesn't love getting a cute mini card in the mail?  They were super fun to create, so check out a few using one of the latest stamp sets from Two Paper Divas called Funky Flowers:

I started by using watercolor paper and stamped the flowers wherever I wanted.  Then I colored the flowers using ZIG markers and added a couple of sweet tags, twine and a stick pin.  Orange patterned paper was added behind the watercolor paper.

For the orange flower card I used watercolor markers #260 & #70.

I love aqua and orange together, so markers #70 & #49 were used on this card.  The watercolor markers are great because you can use as much or as little water as you like to get the color you desire.

Thanks for taking a minute to check out my latest projects featuring stamps from Two Paper Divas!  Make sure you stop back by this week as I have several cards to share!  And there's new stamps coming...

Make it a great day!

Hugs and Kisses

I have officially finished up my Valentine cards!  Don't you just love it when you get caught up?  At least for a day or two!  I'm sharing two Valentine cards with you, both using the "Hugs and Kisses" sentiment from Two Paper Divas.  Check them out:

For my first card I started with several pink patterned papers.  I layered multiple hearts on top of each other and added a sweet pink bow with a heart rhinestone.  For a little bling I added a couple sequins and then popped up the "Hug and Kisses" saying at the bottom.

My second card features the colors red, black and white.  I layered a few hearts on this card, added a mini clothespin and then completed it with the "Hugs and Kisses" sentiment.    I glued on a couple of wooden hearts and some lace with mini pearls along the right side to finish things off.

Hope you have started creating your Valentine cards to mail out to relatives, friends and loved ones!

Make it a great day!

Fishes and Wishes

Well, I may be the last to the party when it comes to using water colors on cards but I'm having a lot of fun learning watercolor techniques these days.  I'm trying out these ZIG Watercolor Markers this week, so you're getting to see my first attempt!

I started out by stamping a momma fish, her baby and this fun birthday sentiment on some water color paper.  These are from Two Paper Divas latest set "Best Fishes."  I then added the orange watercolor (#70) to the fish and then two different shades of blues (#37 & #31) for the water.  I found that you don't have to use very much water to lighten the color or spread it out.  I added a little orange polka dot paper to frame the card.  Be sure to stop back by to see my progress with the watercolors!

Make it a great day!

Love is in the Air

Valentine cards are probably one of my favorites to create.  I just love all of the hearts, reds, pinks, lace, doilies, pearls, etc.  And, who doesn't enjoy receiving a sweet Valentine card from that someone special in the mail?  Well, you are going to be seeing quite a few over the next few weeks...here's one of the ones that I made:

I used a deep red and white polka dot paper for my backdrop and added some white pom pom ribbon along the bottom.  The card was layered with a white heart doily, an XOXO die-cut paper heart, a clear vellum heart with tiny hearts on it and a portion of the Two Paper Divas heart border.  I have used this border for a couple of cards now and just love that you can use the entire stamp or just part of it.  Red and white paper flowers were tucked into a white seam binding bow with twine and a sweet heart cutout tag with "LOVE" stamped on it.  This is also from Two Paper Divas.

Two Paper Divas has just added several new designers for 2016.  Make sure you check out their blogs as well for much more inspiration!  Some very talented gals! :)

Make it a great day!

More Cards for the January Release

I am absolutely loving these new stamps that just came out from Two Paper Divas!  Here are three cards that I made for their January release.

This was such a bright and cheery card to create using the set "Watts Up?"  I started off with a news print background paper.  Then I used a die cut to make a scalloped circle out of a shiny, glittery card stock and topped it with a yellow polka dot circle.  I used three of the Divas new stamps on this card.  "You brighten my day" along with the light bulb were stamped on the circle.  The bulb was glittered around the base and I added a second sentiment ("Because of you, my world is brighter") on white card stock.  To incorporate the shiny silvery color, I added some silver and white pom poms to the bottom along with a double layer scalloped trim.

Who wouldn't love to receive this card on their birthday??!!  Glittered cupcakes?  And three of them?  Wow!  I absolutely love aqua and orange together, so that was my inspiration.  Orange polka dot paper for the top portion and aqua checked paper for the bottom.  The saying is from Two Paper Divas set "Can't Buy Happiness."  It was stamped in orange ink on a notebook page die cut.

My last project is a sweet tag that features the new stamp set "Home Family Blessing."  My family is everything to me so this stamp has quickly become a favorite of mine.  I used a pink patterned paper for the background on this tag.  The sentiment was stamped using aqua ink on white card stock and then die cut.  I added a little greenery to the top along with some seam binding, ribbon and lace.  Pink twine and a pearl finish this lovely tag off!

Make it a great day!

Thanks Bunches!!!

I don't know about you, but I send out a lot of thank you cards this time of year!  My parents taught me young that it was important to send out a thank you note for the presents that I received for Christmas or Birthdays.  So on that note, I'm sharing a card I made using a couple of the brand new stamp sets from Two Paper Divas.  Today is the first day of their January release, so make sure you check them out.  Here's my card:

I started by roughing up the edges of some plain white card stock. Then I added an aqua plaid paper to the bottom and a flower patterned paper along the side.  I like to round the edges on cards to give it a little different shape, so I used a corner rounder on the bottom corners of this card.  Next, I topped the papers with a little tag that I stamped a couple of flowers on.  I wanted to give this card a little bit of extra dimension so I stamped two of the flowers onto card stock, cut them out and popped them to give them a 3-D look.  All of the flowers are from the latest sets from Two Paper Divas called "Funky Flowers" and "Flower Doodles #2."    I used seam binding and lace for the bow, maroon twine, a mini paper flower and a few sequins for an extra touch.  Finally, I layered and popped the  "Thanks a Bunch" sentiment, also from Two Paper Divas, to finish this card off.

Thanks for checking out my latest project!

Make it a great day!

Grateful Heart

"Begin Each Day with a Grateful Heart."  Boy, that's a great saying...don't you think??!!  Especially since we're starting off a new year.  I'm trying to stay on track this year with my cards, so check out my latest Valentine card:

I started my card by picking out a fun patterned conversation heart paper.  Then I die-cut and layered a few hearts and added a twine bow, a button and a few pink stick pins.  I stamped one of the new sentiments from Two Paper Divas in pink and then cut out each word and popped them down the right side of the card.  To complete my Valentine, I rounded the two bottom edges.

Hope you have been inspired to get going on your Valentine cards!

Let's make it a great 2016!
