Flower Doodles Using FMS #183

Don't you just love these spring time rains and thunderstorms that we've been having lately?  Sometimes, I like to just close my eyes and listen to the rain hitting the window.  With all the rain, we're starting to see all of our perennials peeking out of the ground these days.  Also with the springtime our our little, feathered friends are coming out.  We have a bird feeding station in our back yard and it's been fun for Bryan and I to watch all the birds that come around.  My favorite is a cute little cardinal with a red mohawk that comes right up to the kitchen window feeder.  

In keeping with the springtime theme, check out my latest card using a new stamp set from Two Paper Divas called "Flower Doodles."  

The layout is from Freshly Made Sketches this week, which I loved!  I started with some sweet, colorful patterned papers for the background and topped the bottom section with a double row of cream twine and a bow.  On the cream paper, I stamped the flower using several stamps from the set "Flower Doodles."  I overlapped the petals and added sequins for the center of the flower.  They are also from Two Paper Divas.  Here's a couple more views of the card:

Birthday Time

April has been a busy birthday card month for me, so I wanted to share with you a few of those cards.  This first card is one I made for my husband, Bryan, who loves baseball.  I found this vintage baseball image and layered it on some patterned papers along with a star and clipboard flag that says, "Take me out to the ball game!"  The "Happy Birthday" message is a stamp from Two Paper Divas "Everyday Sentiments" set.

This next card was super fun to make for our little nephew's third birthday.  The background is a tape measure embossing folder that I used on kraft paper and the old-fashion truck is a die cut.  The "Happy Birthday" message is from Two Paper Divas "Banner 1" set.

For the inside of his card, I used the toolbox set that is from Two Paper Divas "You Are A Handy Guy".  Isn't it the coolest?!  Lovin' all those tools, especially that saw!  I stamped them on kraft and gray paper and just cut them out.  I like the confetti "Happy Birthday" sentiment (Two Paper Divas "Everyday Sentiments") and wanted to really make it stand out, so I stamped it three times and popped them too.

And now for my favorite part...the back of the card!  I used two different stamp sets from Two Paper Divas, the rustic sign is from the set "For Dad" and the "handmade by" is from "From Me."  I thought this sign just really finished off my card!

This last birthday card is a sweet, vintage card for Bryan's cousin Carly, who loves her doggies and cats.  The papers are from Graphic 45 and the "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Two Paper Divas.  I added some plaid scallops to the bottom of the card, a little paperclip, rust and cream roses for a 3-D look and a couple of sequins that are new from Two Paper Divas.

Let Freedom Ring

Today I'm sharing with you a few of my latest projects using one of new stamp sets from Two Paper Divas, called "Let Freedom Ring."  Check out my first card:

I wanted to use this navy and white star patterned paper for the background of my card, so I roughed up the edges to give it that rustic feel. The window and flower box are die cuts, which I topped with a patriotic banner and red/white twine.  These little banners are stamps that I cut out and popped on the window.  The flowers are stamps as well from "Seed Packet Flowers 2."  I cut each one out and used Wink of Stella on them for a more glittery shine!

Here's my second Americana card:

This card is all about stars!  I loved the fireworks and stars on this paper for the background.  I decided to make several stars in various sizes.  The large white star and the blue check star are both dies.  The little red stars are all stamps from Two Paper Divas as well as the "Let Freedom Ring" sentiment.

Life's a Breeze

Just poppin' in to share a card I made using a couple of the new stamps from Two Paper Divas April release.  Melissa and Gayla have done an amazing job this month with so many fun summertime sets.  Click here to check them out!  

I'm using their new clothesline, which is from the set "Wanna Hang Out" and I also used "Life's A Breeze."  The pole is stamped on kraft paper and I cut some twine to make the clothesline.  Check out these sweet, little swimsuits...too cute!  They were each stamped on patterned paper and cut out as well.  I love these little clothespins and I'm always looking for an excuse to use them, so this card was just perfect!  The sentiment also comes with the set and the clouds are from another one of their sets called, "You Are My Sunshine."  Sure hope you have enjoyed this fun summer card!  If you have a minute to like me on Facebook, that would be fantastic!

Happy Easter from our home to yours!

So, I had this crazy idea to try something different for Easter this year.  I usually always make cards and I love doing that, but I wanted to branch out and try something out of my comfort zone!  Well, this project was super fun, but extremely time consuming!:)  I want it to be known that I did get them all delivered before Easter!  Yay for me!!!  Anyway, check out my first attempt making an Easter ornament and Mason Jar topper:

I love these shorty Mason Jars and I filled them with pastel M&M's (that's my husband's favorite part of this project!  I told him he has to wait until after Easter to eat them as they make a cute decoration!  That's not too mean, right??!!)  The jar is topped with a paper doily and then the topper.  The 3-D church with steeple is from Papertrey Ink as well as the trees.  I totally fell in love with the church when I saw it on their website, especially how they made the windows for you to stamp them in a different color.  When I think of Easter, I think of church so I knew I had to have this!  The grass is topped with a couple flowers with pearls and to finish it off I made a seam binding bow with a stick pin and a "Happy Easter" tag.

Now for the ornaments:

I created hills out of brown kraft paper and stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment right on it.  On top of that is a grassy hill where the 3-D church is placed.  The trees are placed on both layers to add some height.  Silver twine, white seam binding for the bow and a sweet "Happy Easter" tag and well, there you have it!

Let's Go Fly A Kite

"Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height!  Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring!  Up through the atmosphere, up where the air is clear, oh let's go fly a kite!" (from Mary Poppins, by Robert Sherman) Doesn't that song bring back some good old memories?  I remember going out to a field across from our house with my brother and flying a kite on one of those perfect breezy Kansas days. :)  So much fun!  

This is my first time to play with this stamp set from Two Paper Divas.  There's a ton of stamps in this set, so the possibilities really are endless!  I wanted to use the kite stamp for today, so I experimented with it using the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  Check it out:

To begin, I picked out my papers from a stack of yellows, grays and blacks from Authentique.  I wanted to make parts of the kites pop and use some different patterned papers to help give them that 3-D look.  I used some white rick rack on the one kite, followed by twine for the string.  I really like the saying, "Soar like never before" which is also from Two Paper Divas set called "You are my Sunshine."

In following with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, I used a striped paper to separate the bottom portion of the card and topped it with a half circle of yellow paper.
